The UDRIPPIN Overgrip Review, In the Hand

An overgrip is the cheapest upgrade in pickleball, and UDRIPPIN treats it like a canvas. We wrapped three paddles with the Pro DRIP, the Comfort Tour, and a Custom print, then ran them through three weeks of hot mornings and long evening sessions. The whole lineup lives under eight dollars, so the bar is simple. The grip has to stay tacky, pull sweat, and hold up. It clears that bar, with one honest catch we get to below.

In the Hand

The Comfort Tour is the one we kept reaching for. It runs a touch thicker at 0.60mm and a touch softer, and that softer wrap is what wins us over. The hand sinks in a little. On dinks the paddle sits quiet and planted. On drives the medium tack keeps the handle from twisting loose in a sweaty palm. It is the grip we would put on a paddle for a stranger and trust them to like it.

The Pro DRIP goes the other way. At 0.56mm it is the thinnest grip we have wrapped this year, and the high tack grabs the second your fingers close. Feel players who want the paddle to vanish into the hand will love it. The tradeoff is the same across the line. These grips keep the handle thin, so there is no cushion here. If you build up a padded wrap or fight hand shock, this is not your grip. UDRIPPIN is about feel, not foam.

Sweat and the Long Session

Sweat is where cheap grips fall apart, so we tested in real heat. UDRIPPIN holds. The wrap wicks fast and keeps its bite deep into the second and third game, long after a slick grip would turn to glass. Heavy sweaters will still want a fresh wrap mid-match, and that is true of almost every overgrip this thin. The price makes it a non-issue. At $7.99 for three, re-wrapping costs pocket change, and we never finished a session wishing we had paid more for the grip under our hand.

Durability surprised us for a grip this thin. After three weeks the wrapped edges stayed tucked and the tape did not unravel at the butt cap, where cheap grips usually peel first. The tack softened a hair by the third week, which is normal, but it never went dead or slick. One wrap carried us through a full stretch of play, and that is all we ask from an eight dollar grip.

Pro DRIP vs Comfort Tour vs Custom

Picking between them is easy once you know your hand. Take the Pro DRIP for maximum tack and the thinnest feel. Take the Comfort Tour for the softer all-day wrap, which is our default. The Custom grips are the personality play. Printed designs and signature series turn a plain handle into yours, and they feel like the Pro DRIP underneath. Wrap one on a fresh paddle from our paddle lineup and the whole setup reads custom.

Two honest catches keep this out of perfect territory. The dyed colors, the Comfort Tour brights especially, can leave a little tint on a light handle over weeks of play. Stick to white or black if a spotless handle matters to you. And the best Custom prints sell out, so when you see one you love, grab it before it is gone. Neither catch changes the core truth. This is a lot of grip for the money.
