In the Hand: DillCrew Gripzilla Review

The DillCrew Gripzilla is the middle child in DillCrew's three-grip lineup. The Reaper is the sticky one. The Viper is the dry one. Gripzilla sits between them, and that is the point. It is the everyday wrap for players who do not want to think about their grip. We wrapped one over a bare handle and played it straight for three weeks. It earned the spot.

Tack & Lockdown

Gripzilla lands at a true 7 out of 10 on tack. That is the sweet spot for most hands. It grabs on contact, holds through a fast hands battle at the kitchen, and never feels like flypaper. Dry hands lock in without choking the handle. We never re-gripped mid-game or wiped the palm between points. On a hot afternoon it kept its hold while a tackier grip on the next paddle turned to glue. Spin shots and hard drives both stayed planted. This is a grip you forget about, in the best way.

Sweat & Stamina

The double-sided build is the quiet star here. The moisture side pulls sweat off the palm, and after two hours in June heat the handle still read as grip, not sponge. Heavy sweaters will still want the Viper, but for the average player Gripzilla handles a full session without going slick. The vibration-absorbing core is the other surprise. Catch a few off-center balls and the buzz that usually runs up the forearm gets softened at the source. Across long round-robin days, that adds up to a fresher arm. It resists staining too, so the white holds up better than most through sweat and dirt.

Build & Wrap

Wrapping is clean and forgiving. The tape stretches evenly and the finishing edge sits flat without a fight. The cushion runs on the thinner side, which we like for feel and feedback, but bulk-grip players should note it. If you build your handle up with two wraps, plan for that.
