We spent three weeks swinging the Luzz Pro 4 Inferno, and it plays exactly like its name. This is an aggressive, elongated power paddle built for one job: ending points. The raw T700 carbon face and 16mm foam core launch the ball with a loud, hollow pop you hear two courts over. It rewards a full, fast swing and punishes anyone who arrives late. Luzz priced it at $229, and on court it trades blows with paddles that cost $300. We ran it through league nights, weekend open play, and a few hot afternoon sessions. If you attack first and ask questions later, this one fits your hand.

Power and Pop

The Inferno hits like a hammer. Drives leave the face with real pace, and overheads end rallies on contact. The 119.5 swing weight plows through the ball and adds easy depth, so we did not have to swing out of our shoes for pace. Counter-attacks at the kitchen jump off the face, which makes a banger here genuinely scary. We could flick a passing shot from the transition zone and trust it to carry deep. Serves picked up free speed too, and a few returns pushed opponents onto their heels before the rally even started. This is one of the best power paddles under $250, full stop. The trade is plain: all that mass loads the head, and you feel it on the swing back.

Spin and Shaping

Spin is the quiet strength here. The textured raw carbon grabs the ball and lets us shape topspin rollers that dive late and pull opponents off the baseline. Slice serves stayed low and skidded through the whole test window. The grit felt coarse straight out of the wrapper, and it held its bite across three weeks of play. Third-shot drops took spin cleanly, so we could mix soft and heavy without switching paddles. Topspin dinks brushed up and over with margin to spare. For a power-first build, the Inferno spins better than it has any right to, and that combination is what makes it dangerous.

Hands and Control

Control is where the Inferno asks for respect. The 6.25 twist weight is high, so off-center contact still goes where you aim. The sweet spot is huge, and on frantic days that forgiveness saved us more than once. Resets work once you soften your grip and let the foam absorb the pace, but the lively face will float a dink if you get lazy. Hand battles are the real soft spot. That 119.5 swing weight feels tip-heavy when speed-ups come fast at the line. A little lead at the throat drops the balance and settles the head down. This paddle wants an aggressor who dictates, not a patient dinker who waits. If the swing weight is too much, the Diadem Warrior v2 on our shelf is lighter and quicker through the air.

Build and Durability

The foam core held its pop across our test with no dead spots creeping in. The raw carbon face kept its texture, which matters for spin longevity. One honest knock: the paint and edge guard scuff fast on outdoor courts. Ours picked up chips inside the first week. None of it changes how the paddle plays, but add edge tape early if you care how it looks.
